Love 34SP, Hate Nintendo
Beware of the Lawyers!
Nintendo Lawyers have decided that my humble little site is a major threat to them and have been threatening my hosting company! (I'll try and get hold of the letter for you! - Might make interesting reading!) For this reason the roms section has been taken down.

I'd like to say thanks to my hosting company (namely 34SP) for being a great host, and also for being reasonable when the dreaded Nintendo Lawyers came 'a knockin''! A great deal of hosting companies would have simply shut down the site. - Thanks!
Hate Nintendo
Not sure what you have to gain from getting rid of the roms on my site. Seeing, as they were no longer being sold. (I had no N64 Roms). All you have accomplished is to stop people from enjoying the old games! If anything the games were good publicity for Nintendo!
I really couldn't be bothered to maintain the roms section anyway! But in future please don't request any roms for the reasons explained above.
PS: I hope Nintendo read my terms and conditions! If any of them are over 40 I'll sue their arses off!!!
Note to Self: Add "NO LAWYERS" to Terms & Conditions!

What's Happened to www.TheGing.com?
Well as you can see www.TheGing.com is well and truly back! The site was down for one and a half months due to EVIL corporations trying to steal our domain!
Please don't do business with ActiveISP or MelbourneIT.
Regardless I have basically lost my passion for the www.TheGing.com project. And whilst I am willing to maintain the Emulation section (perhaps the Romz as well), the Warez, Crackz and Mp3z sections will be taken down if no-one comes forward (e-mail or private messages me) and takes responsibility for one or more of them, they will be deleted! Bearing in mind that we would have lost a lot of traffic whilst the site was down, I will keep the sections up for a while before they are deleted.
So what's the future for www.TheGing.com?
Well I intend to continue the development of www.TheGing.com in the form of Cosmetic Improvements and further improvement of the PHP source code. With regards to the purpose of www.TheGing.com I intend to allow people to set up their own sections on whatever they want (I may even let Maugetar have the "Darkness, Death and Pointy Things" Section I know he longs for!). People will not need to write any code apart from placing links and pictures (I may even write a quick tutorial on the subject!). They will also not have to put up with bloody banners! And they won't live in fear of having their work taken down! Although there will be a few terms and conditions I believe that www.TheGing.com will be the most liberal place on the web!
Although we are not yet really ready to start hosting new sections we can if people really want to get started. If you wish to set up your own section please e-mail me or Private Message me.
So what tools will I have available to me if I set up my own section?
Well at the moment you can have a news page, a forum (message board), a links database and a downloads database you can also host your own surveys!
In the future more will be available such as your own personal theme (how the site looks), also you can always request new stuff! |

Updates
Right no one has come forward therefore the Crackz section has been taken down completely. Also the Warez has been rightfully renamed Software. And will now only be composed of Shareware, Freeware & Opensource that I like! If you have written a piece of software feel free to submit it to us.
As far as hosting goes. I'm getting there...
...slowly...
...very slowly. :-(
I'm currently in the process of mod_rewriting the whole site. If you'd like it to go faster then you can either help me out with this bloody mod_rewrite! Or you can pester my host into allowing subdomains without making us pay for domain pointers! Well I reckon that's about it!
